Independent Reading Project
  • Select a book that you will enjoy reading successfully.
  • Take notes as you read.  This is also called annotating.  Copy interesting quotes, make notes on characters, and keep track of what is happening in the story.
  • Write a short summary and then comment on the writer's style.  Then follow with a list of 5 quotes (10 for Honors) showing the literary devices used by the author.  Comment on each.
  • ​Include a title page with an illustration.
  • Enjoy your reading!
